Football Coaches,
Welcome to the 13th year of the Topeka Area Football Coaches Association. TAFCA was founded as a way to showcase football in the Topeka area. This is an opportunity to learn new ideas and gain knowledge from great speakers at these clinics and get to know the coaches in our area and share football ideas. Also, the college night and Junior Combine in May is a great opportunity to promote our kids to colleges. Being a part of this association is important for football in this area.
There will be three coaching clinics and a college night this spring. The clinics will be held at Uncle Bo’s in the Ramada Hotel on the last Wednesday of January (28th), February (25th) and March (25th). The college night will be May 5th (Tuesday). Each one of the clinics will include a social beginning at 6:15PM, an association meeting at 6:45PM and a football speaker at 7:00PM.
Our first clinic on the 28th of January will be a great one for all coaches and levels. Lee Weber from Council Grove will be our speaker for the evening. Coach Weber’s topic will be focused on building a program from 7th to 12th grade and “Keys to turning around a struggling program”. Coach Weber is a highly enthusiastic, hardworking, organized coach that has had great success with each football program he has been a part of as a head coach.
You and your staff are welcome to attend each of these clinics and the college night. There is no cost for membership due to the success of College Night. Please let your assistant, middle school and youth coaches that we would love to have them be a part of this clinic. The beverages will be provided courtesy of TAFCA, but we also encourage you to think about buying dinner there to thank Uncle Bo’s for supporting the coaches association. If there are coaches not on the list or they are new to the area, please let me know or forward this to them. We look forward to seeing you on the 28th of January at Uncle Bo’s inside the Ramada Inn.
