Standard GSI to MOI

Moving from Standard GSI to MOI, wait until Spock or can it be done? I saw in the 4.5.1 and 4.6 UI it is possible in settings to migrate over but there’s a warning to remove the index nodes first. Is the procedure to remove the index nodes from the cluster then in settings change to MOI then added the index nodes back in and create the indexes again. Is that the correct procedure? Is there any documentation what is the official procedure? The problem is that this customer has real hardware so creating another cluster and XDCR to a new cluster isn’t an option. Obviously backing up the cluster would be wise as well.
