Hi

I have a cookie plugin on two different sites. On one site it works and on the other it doesn't. Through detective work i have found the issue.

On the working one the cookie "civicCookieControl" is set to a value of "%7B%22pv%22%3A%22%22%2C%22cm%22%3A%22info%22%2C%22hidden%22%3A%22yes%22%7D".

On the broken one the value is "%7B%22pv%22%3A%22%22%2C%22cm%22%3A%22info%22%7D".

If I take the value from the good one and insert into the broken on it works fine. So I presume it is being set wrong.

I have checked all other things and i'm not using analytics or any of the callback functions.

All help greatly appreciated.

Hi Matthew,

Can you give us the urls of your websites so that we can take a look? It's not clear what you mean by saying that the plugin is broken.

If you url decode those values, you will see that the first one has hidden:yes, which means you have hidden it in the past and it will remain hidden every time you reload the page, and until the cookie expires. The other one does not have that property, so it should be popping up every time you reload the page.

Hi Matthew,

I can't tell for sure what is going wrong in this specific installation of Cookie Control. I think something else is corrupt in your site and is preventing Cookie Control from functioning properly. There are quite a few html validation issues in your site, can you try fixing those and see if the problem is resolved?

Gerasimos
