Latest download 1.2 won't run properly

Hello

I tried your latest build ie 1.2 (although it said 1.1 on the file).

Using 64 bit Ubuntu Linux 10.10, and latest Sun Java JDK, I installed
and set permissions as required. But when i ran the sh file i would
get random failures, and timeouts and never got to see the web admin
screen.

I tried same file on Windows 2008 server 64 bit with same issue which
made me wonder if it was a 64 bit issue, although nowhere does it
mention on your site any issue with running 64 bit version of java.

After removing and installing version 1.1 instead on Windows 2008
server, it worked fine.


Are you aware of any issues with running version 1.2 ? I was
installing using the Derby db

Hello Julian,

this would be interesting for me as well since I am about to reinstall
my server with a 64bit debian.

Currently I am using OpenJDK instead of Sun.
Maybe this might be worth a try.

Derby and MySQL work both smoothly for me.

I have just tried the new build 3, of the java installer, and still
get an error. The error is slightly different to before and appears to
run further than before.

Ok, I've uninstalled my other version and downloaded the new 1.2 build
4, but i get exactly the same errors as i had before 9ie using sun jdk
64 bit). What's weird is that on first run, it takes nearly 10 mins
before it gets setup, and then i get errors, but the java process
regularly just seems to be sitting around doing nothing.

I'm starting to think i will never get this working to test, if anyone
can offer any ideas or troubleshooting please do !

Hi Julian,

Can you try removing the "-server" argument from the file:
"start_constellio.(bat|sh)" (line 14).

I was able to solve startup issues on a test server with this.

Hi

In the end the answer to many of the problems i was having was related
to the fact that we use a proxy server and this needs setting up in
the java opts files in the startup.sh file.

ie

However, you should be able to configure it in start_constellio.(bat|
sh)
Edit the JAVA_OPTS variable to add the following parameter (as
necessary) :
-Dhttp.proxyHost=proxyhostURL
-Dhttp.proxyPort=proxyPortNumber
-Dhttp.proxyUser=someUserName
-Dhttp.proxyPassword=somePassword

After inserting my proxy details, i could connect to the server
without (so ) many issues.

I did however have a further issue relating to my use of Ubuntu 10.10.
If you use a MySQL DB, then there was an issue with the
in the JDBC URLs for the MySQL connection ie
&useServerPrepStmts=false"

ie briefly :-

The is located in "app/Constellio/constellio/tomcat/webapps/constellio/
META-INF/persistence_base.xml" (line 22)
