Arduino Getting Hex Program off Mega 2560

Hello All,

I am trying to get the firmware off the Blue Laser Cutter before I replace it. I want a backup in case I make a mistake or the code is not the same as the source I have.

I connected the USB Tiny to it and used the following command "sudo avrdude -v -c usbtiny -pm2560 -Uflash:r:program.bin:r"

It, however, says that the program.bin file is empty. Is there a command I am missing?
