I am not sure atm why setting `
host.name` changes the behavior. However,
you link is not correct. Using CP 3.2 you need to consider docs for
Kafka 0.10.2
And for 0.10.2 broker setting `
host.name` is actually deprecated.
I would also recommend to use the Confluent docs:
