The Collaborative Social Systems Lab at the Network Science Institute at Northeastern University seeks to hire a post-doctoral fellow with a background in organizational behavior, human-computer interaction or a related disciplines to collaborate on on-going research projects on collective intelligence, and networked problem-solving and decision-making, to start in Fall 2017.

In our previous work, we have explored how individuals solve challenging global tasks in social networks from only local, distributed interactions. We have used agent-based modeling, conduct lab and field experiments, and analyze observational datasets to study how networked interactions influences human behavior, strategies, and success. The post-doctoral fellow will be in charge of designing and executing large-scale network experiments and work with existing datasets to explore how factors like group composition and communication enable collective intelligence to emerge in groups.

An ideal post-doctoral fellow will have interests and skills blending social network or organizational behavior theory with strong quantitative and computational skills. The candidate must have a PhD in organizational behavior, economics, HCI, information systems, cognitive psychology, quantitative psychology, communication, computer science, or a related discipline.  The post-doctoral fellow would be supervised by Christoph Riedl, and work with collaborators at Carnegie Mellon, MIT, Stanford, and other institutions as part of the larger research group working on collective intelligence. The fellowship/position is for two years.

Interested candidates should send a personal statement describing career objectives, background and experience along with a CV as a single PDF file to Christoph Riedl <c.r...@neu.edu>. Please also have at least two references directly send their letters to this email address, with your name in the subject line. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
