xlC 8 and 9 on aix 5.3

I did a TL upgrade to 5.3 ML7 with the lastest fixes included. That
took my up to xlC9:
xlC.adt.include 6.0.0.0 COMMITTED C Set ++ Application
xlC.aix50.rte 9.0.0.1 COMMITTED XL C/C++ Runtime for
AIX 5.2
xlC.cpp 9.0.0.0 COMMITTED C for AIX
Preprocessor
xlC.msg.en_US.cpp 9.0.0.0 COMMITTED C for AIX
Preprocessor
xlC.msg.en_US.rte 9.0.0.1 COMMITTED XL C/C++ Runtime
xlC.rte 9.0.0.1 COMMITTED XL C/C++ Runtime

Now our enterprise application won't compile. Version 8 works okay.
Is there any way to back up to version 8?

I run xlC 9 on 5.3

Mine is at ML 5300-08,

I upgraded by installing....

5300-08-00-0818 (remove xlfrte.aix51)
5300-05-CSP (for ICU4C)
5300-08-03-0831
