Does anyone know if it is possible to send emails programmatically or
using a utility/third party product out of a S-Series NonStop server
to my workstation (personal inbox) using the existing email
infrastructure on the network, i.e. Outlook clients, mail servers, etc
either from the Guardian or OSS space?

Lars Jansen wrote a sendmail program in C for the Tandem platform some years
ago. Works great, too.

We use TeleMail by TIC Software. It works in conjunction with the
spooler subsystem. It has worked well for us.

I have also used Lars Jansen's sendmail program (mentioned by Doug).
It is run from TACL (or through PROCESS_LAUNCH_ I suppose). You supply
input interactively, with TACL variables, or in a text/edit file.

Also, I think the open source sendmail is ported to OSS.

You could also rig something up using TELNET to connect to an SMTP
server and issue the commands manually.

You could also use a java program if you're set up for it. We have
some running as Pathway servers and do pathsends from legacy COBOL.

I also like to use Lars sendmail client program to send mail and
leverage existing mail infrastructures, however if you need a full-
fledged sendmail product to run on Nonstop and handle mail in either
Guardian or OSS spaces, I suggest that you check out Ron Bowden's
Sendmail.
