NEW PAINT SYSTEM FOR SILICON GRAPHICS WORKSTATIONS

IRVINE, California (October 13, 1993) - Interactive Effects, Inc
today announced version 1.2 of AMAZON Paint for all Silicon Graphics
workstations.

The new software is aimed at 3D animators and graphic artists
seeking an affordable high performance solution to paint and
image processing needs.

AMAZON provides the artist with an unlimited number of drawing
layers which are composited together to create the final image.
Layers may be hidden or dimmed while working. Various operations
in AMAZON may take one layer as the source and draw a copy onto the
destination making truly non-destructable image manipulation possible.

Unlike other paint packages which keep matte channel information
separate from the current image, AMAZON integrates matte information
into every pixel in the same way popular animation packages
produce rendered images. Real-time compositing lets the user
work on any layer and see the composited full-resolution results
as drawing occurs.

AMAZON Features:

o Support for over 10 popular image file formats.
o 40 Image processing effects
o Over 20 Brush effects
o Custom 32bit Brushes and patterns
o Image sizes limited only by system memory
o Infinite Zoom in/out capability
o Realtime image panning
o Image Rotoscoping tools
o Anti Aliased Shapes
o Anti Aliased Postscript text
o Full Wacom tablet support for pressure sensitive drawing.
o Intuitive interface developed and optimized
specifically for IRIS GL

AMAZON paint will run on any Silicon Graphics workstation, including
the Indy and Indigo Entry systems, running Irix 4.05 or higher and supporting
full 24 bit or virtual 24 bit color.

AMAZON paint is currently shipping at a list price of $2250 per license
which includes full printed and online documentation, phone/email/ftp
support and AMAZON utilities. Educational and site discounts available.
