AMAZON 3D PAINT SYSTEM FOR SILICON GRAPHICS WORKSTATIONS

IRVINE, California (July 19, 1994) - Interactive Effects, Inc
developers of AMAZON Paint today announced the shipping of AMAZON
3D Paint for Silicon Graphics workstations.

The new software, aimed at 3D animators and industrial designers
provides a fast and interactive means of creating and applying
complex texture maps to 3D models.

Typically when creating texture map images a designer must use
trial and error when applying color to desired details of a 3D
model. AMAZON 3D simplifies this process by allowing the designer
to paint directly onto the surface of a 3D object using any of
AMAZON paint's advanced palette of tools and filters.

AMAZON 3D Features:

o The ability to load Wavefront, Side Effects,
and Vertigo object files.
o Ability to paint directly onto the surface of a 3D model.
o Ability to hilight UV coordinates of any polygon in image space
o Ability to paint and view from arbitrary viewing angles
o View UV coordinates as an overlay in the 2D canvas window.
o Real-time rotation/zoom/panning of 3D models
o Support for over 12 popular image file formats.
Silicon Graphics, Vertigo, Side Effects Prisms, Tiff,
Softimage, TDI, Wavefront, Targa, Jpeg, GIF, PPM, and Alias
o Over 50 Image processing tools and effects
o Over 20 Brush effects
o Custom 32bit Brushes and patterns
o Unlimited number of real-time composited drawing layers
o Image sizes limited only by system memory
o Infinite Zoom in/out capability
o Real-time image panning
o Anti Aliased Shapes (polygons, splines, circles etc.)
o Anti Aliased Postscript text
o Full Wacom tablet support for pressure sensitive drawing.
o Intuitive interface developed and optimized
specifically for IRIS GL

AMAZON 3D paint will run on any Silicon Graphics workstation
capable of texture mapping (Indy, Indigo, Indigo2, VGX, Reality
