How the heck do I redeem my code and download Forza 3?

Hi,

My ISP has been nice enough to uncap me so I can let Steam, etc...
update games in my Win10 environment. I thought I would take advantage
of that and purchase and download the latest Forza racing game.

I bought it via Amazon since Steam does not carry it.

It said it was for XBox and Windows 10. I do not want to use it with
my XBox One, but for the Win10 dualboot environment on my PC.

How do I download it? Very confusing.

Click on the Windows Store live tile, then click on the stick figure at
the top for your account, and you'll see a Redeem A Code option. Then under
Library, the game should show, and there should be an option to choose what
drive to install it on.

Click on the start button. You'll see a giant Store rectangle :)

No, it is not there. Only UPlay, a calendar, photos, MS Edge. All

Okay, I found it and pinned it to the Start menu. But no stick
figure. All it does when I click on it is to take me to the MS Store.

I see Forza standard edition for sale but I purchased Forza Horizon 3.
I do not see a way to enter my code so I can download the game.

By Googling, I see I need Win10 Anniversary edition to run it but I do
not have either it or the game installed.

It might not be a stick figure. It's your account portrait, after you log
in your Microsoft account, in a small circle next to the search bar.

Redeem code is in that menu.

I already redeemed the code. It is not possible to download the game.

Any way, my ISP capped me back to the normal speed.

$60 down the drain.

Thanks.

Ok, how are you logging into Windows10? There's a 'local' option, and
one that uses your Microsoft Account: Settings/Account/Info
Also, install the Anniversary update already, it's perfectly stable :)

I am running the Anniversary version of Windows 10. I signed into the

Forza Horizon 3.

When I search in the Windows Store app in my machine, 4 different
entries all titled Forza Horizon 3 (standard edtion, deluxe edition,
ultimate edition, etc) show up.

All you have to do is type in "Forza" in the search box.

Check again. It should be there. Maybe it's geographic? I'm in the
U.S. when I check.

Last time I tried Zags, I only saw the standard edition for sale ($60,
I think, which is what I bought at Amazon). I also in the US.

I am new to Win10 and I do not understand why I have to go to the MS
Win10 store to download the PC version. Is it a MS game? I bought it
from Amazon but they do not have a link to download it but only a link
to redeem the code, which I already did.

The reviews at GameSpot, PC Gamer, Maximum PC are totally
uninformative.

Thanks!!!

Hi!

As soon as I purchased it from Amazon.

There were two choices:

- Redeam the code on the XBox website
-Redeam the code on the XBox console

I chose the first since I would rather not play it on my XBox1 (old HD
TV and I hate the XBox1 interface). "Use prepaid code"

That was on 2/14 and I received a "Success!" and "You now own Forza
Horizon 3 Deluxe Edition". But it says it will automatically install
on my home XBox. Which is false. It does not appear there either.

"Redeem your code or gift card."

"It will be added to paul@....." which is my MS login. I login to
Win10 and it is not there under "My Games" or whatever it is called.

Thanks!

Not to be insulting but it sounds like you bought it for the X-Box. Why
would your X-Box game be installed or linked to your PC? You should
have bought the PC version.

Looking at the Windows store, "Forza Horizon 3 Deluxe Edition" is an
XBOX Play Anywhere title so buying it gets you both PC and XBOX
versions. Or should at least but I have no idea what goes wrong here for
PW. I don't have any titles like this.

Hi DT,

Amazon listed it for XBox One and Windows 10. It also does not show
up on my XBox to download. I have never seen a more confusing
interface than the XBox 1. I hate it!

That could be the problem. Oh well. I would have bought the XBox
DVD, which probably would just contain a code to download the game.

I am going to right it off as a lesson learned.

Thanks!

You might have created two completely different accounts, one for Windows
and a separate one for your Xbox One. If the version of the game you
bought only works on the Xbox One then in order to play the game you
would need to sign in on your Xbox One using the account you redeemed
the code for.

Shouldn't need to write this off. If you go to the "store" on Windows
10 and put "Forza Horizon" in the search box, all of the versions
should come up in the drop-down. Then choose your edition, the Horizon
3 Deluxe one, I believe you said and it will take you to the store
page. At the top of its listing could be different options, if it
shows a price with "Buy" and "Redeem a code" then it doesn't think you
own it and perhaps you can try to redeem your code again? Otherwise,
from what I recall, it says "Owned" or something similar and then
gives you the option to download it. After that it will show "This
product is installed" and give you a "Play" button.

As to the XBox One, if you've redeemed the code, the game should show
up under the "My Games and Apps" listed with anything else you own but
that are not installed on the console. Third one down on the left, I
think? Yeah, the XBox One interface sucks but it is *way* better than
it started off life as. <shudder>

Just as an FYI, you *have* to purchase the digital version of a Play
Anywhere title in order to download it on both/either systems.
Purchase a physical copy and it only works on the system you purchase
it for.
