Anyway, has anyone gotten in this door? Is it a door that you come out of
later? If you're in the Temple of Naos, have a look at this.
Also, I was having trouble getting across the switchplate board, too. There's
a jar (one of four that you need) at the end of this room. On the floor are
nine switchplates like this:
I can't figure this puzzle out. I found a heiroglyphic in another part of
the level (possibly even a different level) that shows a map that looks
similar to the switchplates. It shows three different maps of what I believe
are the switchplates. I thought you have to follow the paths in this map, but
every combination I tries warps me to the entrance of the temple again and
again. Sometimes, I get the message "Nothing seemed to happen". Other times
I just get warped. Anyone know what's up with this puzzle. Maybe just a
hint, not the outright answer to give me a nudge in the right direction.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

I was playing Hexen II last night and I found a door (I believe it was in the
Temple of Naos, which is off the Ancient Temple of Nerertum). This is the
level where you get the Guardian key from the lap of that seated Egyptian dude
statue. If you're standing in his lap, facing away from him, to your left and
up is a door that you can open by shooting. It only stays open for a few
seconds, then closes again. I was unable to get into this door. I tried
breaking parts of the guy so that I could create jumping blocks, but no
combination I found will get you up there.

I know exactly what you're talking about... I eventually cheated, and
flew into that door, and inside is... Nothing. It's an alcove. No
passages, no rooms, no items. I was disappointed too.

This paths are the solution... Follow 'em, follow 'em all, and if they
don't work, follow 'em again in random sequences. You'll eventually get
through... I think it's a bug that it doesn't work every time.

I think there's a bug here. I was able to walk past the switchplates and
pick up the jar without doing anything. Then I kept trying to figure out
what pressing the plates properly was doing because nothing new happened
when I got a sequence complete message.

Possibly a respawn location for deathmatch?

Somewhere else in the mazes (I don't recall the exact location) there
are three pictures on a wall, each showing three dots on a 9x9 grid...
one of them will be the correct combination (it's determined randomly,
I think).

That _must_ be a bug, but a nice trick to save time when replaying the
game...

The only thing that happens is that you're free to walk across to the
jar, without being teleported back outside the temple. Since you
already had the jar, nothing else would happen.
