what is it you want to know ? are you using SNA now and how

At V6R1, AnyNet is still supported but is "deprecated" -- you should now
be using "High Performance Routing" (HPR) instead. Included with i5/OS
at "no extra charge."

actually, EE was added at V5R4
and IBM plans not to support anynet after V6R1

IBM plans for i5/OS V6R1 to be the final release to support AnyNet.

I just don't know.

Planning statements provide insight into IBM's current plans, directions,
and intent, and are subject to change or withdrawal without notice. Any
reliance on these planning statements is at the relying party's sole risk
and will not create liability or obligation for IBM.
IBM has already delivered Enterprise Extender (EE) in V5R4 and V6R1, the
follow-on product to replace AnyNet. It is a superset of the functions
provided by AnyNet. Anything you can do with AnyNet, you can also do
with EE -- including SNADS (SNA-over-IP) ... but Enterprise Extender
uses UDP vs. TCP, and so there is less overhead and so it is actually
faster, over the same speed Ethernet connection.
AnyNet only supported the LEN (Low-Entry Networking) subset of SNA,
while EE supports all APPC/APPN functionality.
You just need to "bite the bullet" and reconfigure to start using EE, at
V5R4 or V6R1, and forget about AnyNet. It's "dead."
Mark, would you have a simple cheat sheet chart on what you have to do
to A) configure EE and then B) convert sites to it. This would have
to be done both for the host and the remote site I would think. I
recall seeing something about removing your old APPN.SNA.IBM.COM items
from host table as well. Do you yank qappnrmt's and conver them to
qappnlcl, what do you do with the network attribute for anynet as well.
