Hi

I have oracle running on 10.20 and i see that over 50 oracle rocesses are
now running and owned by daemon and they are useing a lot of CPU. Why is
this happening and is it supposed to be like this?

Lookes something like this:
CODA and MASTN2P are the name of the databases.

ps -ef |grep daemon

daemon 21125 1 0 09:53:37 ? 0:28 oracleCODA (LOCAL=NO)
daemon 21281 1 0 10:00:22 ? 0:01 oracleCODA (LOCAL=NO)
daemon 21123 1 0 09:53:37 ? 0:03 oracleCODA (LOCAL=NO)
daemon 20583 1 0 09:39:27 ? 0:30 oracleCODA (LOCAL=NO)
daemon 26316 1 0 12:08:59 ? 0:00 oracleCODA (LOCAL=NO)
daemon 23545 1 0 11:09:47 ? 0:00 oracleMASTN2P (LOCAL=NO)
daemon 18705 1 0 08:32:27 ? 1:21 oracleCODA (LOCAL=NO)

You might want your Oracle DBA have a look at this. Probably this is the
way she has set the SGA for the database. Normally if the SGA is high or
just enough to fit into your real memory then you should see this kind of
problem.

Hope this helps...

Would you need more info on setting Oracle database, drop me an email and
I would happy to help you out.
