Hello,

I have had Samba working intermittedly (a few minutes at a time) on a
QNX/x86 box. Now it has stopped working altogether. I've seen a
bunch of users with this same problem (log file included below) but no
solutions. Does anyone have any ideas?

I've now spent about 6 days trying to configure and run Samba. It
seems very unstable. When running, it seems to take forever to load
in the Win2000 directory tree. Does this software work for anyone? I
read originally that it was stable, but I'm either doing something
very wrong or it isn't ready for prime time.

What version of Samba do you have? The latest stable version is 2.2.5 and
is the recommended version to be running, especially with win2k/XP.

In case anyone else has the same problem, it appears that erasing the
file /usr/local/samba/var/locks/messages.tdb will fix this problem.
The system seemed to recreate a good version of this file after it was
erased.
