hi,
i rtry to use an applet via plugn version 1.3 and want to sign it with
the netscape signtool 1.3, because i dont want the old mechanism with
identitydb.obj. i did it as they described on java.sun.com, but when i
try the stuff i get this exception:

Java(TM) Plug-In: Version 1.3.0-C

Verwendung der JRE-Version 1.3.0 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM

Home-Verzeichnis des Benutzers = C:\WIN98

the point is, that i try to use a netscape test-certifcate and not a
real one (verisign etc.) and with pure ntscape java all goes well. so is
this a fact that java plugin 1.3 can run via netscape signing, but only
with real certificates and not with testing ones ?
please help me on this fact, ther is a similar question on
http://forum.java.sun.com/read/16803020/qAuyD3qnM7nwAAAHf#LR
that exactly meets the same point, but offers no answer !!!
thank you
peter
