Greetings,

After months of feature enhancement, bug fixing and testing since beta
release, J&L Associates is very pleased to announce the availability of
ActiveSolid v1.0, an innovative solid modeling ActiveX control and
application.

ActiveSolid runs in two modes: control mode and application mode. As a
control, ActiveSolid has one unique feature that differentiates itself from
other 3D ActiveX controls currently available on the market: its built-in
rich, customizable GUI. All the functionality and GUI elements in the
application version are also available in the control version and are
accessible through ActiveSolid's Context Sensitive Menu, Rollup Control
Panel, Tool and Command Bars. As a result, no user programming is required
to make full use of AcitveSolid control. This is very different from all
other ActiveX controls available on the market, which usually provide no or
very limited user interface and thus require extensive client side
programming to make their functionality accessible to end users.

Another unique feature of ActiveSolid is its import/export plugin
architecture using COM's Component Category technology that enables third
party developers to independently develop their own ActiveSolid importers
and exporters.

ActiveSolid can be hosted in many standard ActiveX containers, such as
Internet Explorer and Microsoft ActiveX Control Test Container. Version 1 is
both a scripting server (i.e., as a scripting host) and a scripting client
(i.e., automation capable).

ActiveSolid is written entirely in ATL/WTL and is thus very compact. All
functionality is packed inside ActiveSolid.dll under 2MB (excluding
OpenGL.dll for rendering and FreeImage.dll for 2D image import/export). It
features an intuitive, non-blocking GUI and is a fun to use. It is the only
high quality solid modeling program/control in its price range (under
$30us). Do not be fooled by the low, low price. Many features in ActiveSolid
even compete favorably against high-end 3D modeling packages that are
selling for 20 times as much. And do not take our word for it, download the
trial ActiveSolid v1.0 and the free Import/Export Plugins now to see it in
action (all commands including import/export are available in the trial
version except for the Save/Save As commands).
