Hello

I want to use MariaDB 10.0.16, which ships with wsrep 25.3.5. MariaDB decided to integrate later versions of wsrep first in 10.1.x. Is it safe to use 23.3.8 (or even 25.3.9) with MariaDB 10.0.16? Simple testing shows the 25.3.8 plugin working with MariaDB 10.0.16 as expected. We want the pc.recover feature, but cannot run an alpha version MariaDB.

Also, like others asked on the list, official packaging, in my case RHEL6 x86_64 would be nice. For now i've built on RHEL6 myself from https://github.com/codership/galera/releases

PS. It seems that 25.3.8 has seen some production experience, at least Percona Cluster has been shipping with it for a while?

Thanks.

Hi,

The whole point of the wsrep API project is to demonstrate that
replication logic can be completely decoupled from dbms logic. As long
as API matches (provider loads) you can use any version of Galera with
any version of MySQL, MariaDB, PXC or whatever that can load the
provider..

The problem is purely marketing: people don't want fancy details, they
want a "cluster", so it has to be distributed all together.

Regards,
Alex
