---On October 18 at Barr Lake near Boat Launch, Steve Mlodinow reported juv ICELAND GULL and 2 Sabine's Gulls.  On October 18 at Barr Lake near  Boat Launch Kathy Mihm Dunning reported Red-throated Loon.  On October 19 at Barr Lake, Kim Mauritz reported 2 Sabine's GUlls, 2 ICELAND GULLS, and a Field Sparrow.  On October 18 at Barr Lake near the boat launch, Candace Johnson reported Red-throated Loon.  On October 20 at Barr Lake, Mark Minner-Lee, Norm Lewis, Diane Roberts, and Adam Vesely reported Red-throated Loon.  On October 21 at Barr Lake, Glenn Walbek, Mark Peterson, Phile Lyon, Chris Goulard, and Gwen Moore reported Red-throated Loon.  On October 21 at Barr Lake Glenn Walbek and Mark Peterson reported 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls (1st cyc, 4th cyc).

---On October 8 at South Platte Reservoir, Ben Sampson, Thomas Holub, and Dale Pate reported f-type Surf Scoter in the SE Corner.  On October 9 at South Platte Reservoir, Mark Chavez, Gene Rutherford, Renee Casias, and John Drummond reported Surf Scoter.  On October 10 at South Platte Reservoir, David Suddjian and many other birders reported Surf Scoter.  On October 11 at South Platte Reservoir, Jill Boice, David Hill, Cynthia Madsen, Diane Roberts, and Mary Burger reported Surf Scoter.  On October 13, Lee Farrell, Chris Gilbert, and David Dowell reported Surf Scoter at South Platte Reservoir.  On October 14, Jason Beason, Andrea Robinsong, and Glenn Walbek reported Surf Scoer at South Platte Reservoir.

---On October 8, Ted Floyd reported a Laughing Gull at Valmont Reservoir in Boulder.

---On October 8, Jack Bushong reported Palm Warbler about 100 yards down Coal Creek Bike Trail near underpass at W Cherry.

On October 8, Bob Spencer reported Palm Warbler at Dutch Creek Park in Louisville.  On October 9, Jack Bushong reported Palm Warbler on Coal Creek Trail where it goes over Coal Creek near Dutch Creek Park.  On October 9, Peter Burke reported Palm Warbler at Warembourgh Open Space in Louisville.

---On October 6 at Boulder Reservoir, Ted Floyd reported a flyover Sprague's Pipit and 2+ Sabine's Gulls.

---On October 6, a Nashville Warbler was reported by David Dowell and Chris Rurik at Golden Ponds Park & Nature Area in Longmont.

CHEYENNE COUNTY:

---On October 16 in Kit Carson (town), Kara Carragher reported Nashville Warbler.

CUSTER COUNTY:

---On October 10 at Lake DeWeese, Monday Birders reported 2 Great-tailed Grackles.

---On October 6 at Lake DeWeese, Mark Peterson reported Red Phalarop, Northern Parula, and 2 flyover Chestnut-collared Longspurs.

DOUGLAS COUNTY:

---On October 13, at Marina Sandspit at Chatfield SP, Gwen Moore reported Pomarine Jaeger and Sabine's Gull.

DOUGLAS/JEFFERSON COUNTIES:

---On October 13, Adam Vesely and Mark Chavez reported Pomarine Jaeger at Chafield in area betweeh fishing pier and north boat ramp; Dan String, John Drummond and Jeannie Mitchell had good views of the Pomarine Jaeger from the handicapped Fisherman's pier and Scott Somershoe reported best view from the Jeff Co side North Boat Ramp.  On October 13, Nic Korte and Scott Someshoe reported Pomarine Jaeger on Jefferson County side, and David Dowell, Scot Somershoe, Christine Alexander, Cheri Phillips, and Renee Casias reported Pomarine Jaerger on Douglas County side.  On October 14, Dale Adams reported that the Pomarine Jaeger spend much of the time in the middle of the reservoir at Chatfield.  The Pomarine Jaeger was reported on the Douglas side by Chuck Aid and Glenn Walbek and on the Jefferson side by Andrea Robinsing, Jason Beason, Tracy Phenger, and Norm Lewis.  On October 15, Gregg Goodrich reported that the Pomarine Jaeger continues at Chatfield SP and was seen by many birders on both the Douglas county and Jefferson county side of the reservoir.  On October 16, the Pomarine Jaeger was reported by  Ben Lagasse, Kathy Mihm Dunning, Frank Farrell, Loch Kilpatrick, and Peter Burke on the Douglas side and by Tim Ryan and Bob Spencer on the Jefferson side of Chatfield.  On October 17, the Pomarine  Jaeger was reported by Mel & Jeanne Goff, Monday Birders, and Brian Johnson on the Douglas county side of Chatfield and by Mark Minner-Lee, Tim Ryan, and Brian Johnson on the Jefferson county side of Chatfield.  On October 18 the Pomarine Jaeger was reported by David Suddjian and several other birders on the Jefferson County side of Chatfield and by David Suddjian, Aaron Shipe, Tom Behnfield, and Art Hudak on the Douglas County side.

---On October 8 at Chatfield SP, Greg Pasquariello reported Lesser Black-backed Gull and Sabine's Gull. 

EL PASO COUNTY:

---On October 11, Aaron Driscoll reported 3 Surf Scoters at Big Johnson.  On October 11, John Drummond reported that a Pacific Loon joined the Surf Scoters at Big Johnson.  On October 12, Kyle Kawley reported Pacific Loon at Big Johnson.

FREMONT COUNTY:

---On October 19 in the CR 84 area, Dale Adams reported Chihuahuan Raven and Curve-billed Thrasher.

---On October 8 on Canon City Riverwalk between Sells Lake and Raynolds Ave, Dale Adams reported Black Phoebe.

JEFFERSON COUNTY:

---On October 14, Norm Lewis and Scott Somershoe reported Surf Scoter at South Platte Reservoir.  On October 18, Phil Lyon reported Surf Scoter at South Platte Reservoir.  On October 21, David Suddjian reported Surf Scoter at South Platte Reservoir.

---On October 12 at Chatfield SP, Ira Sanders reported a Pomarine Jaeger west of water intake at N end of Dam.

---On October 8 at Genesee Mountain Park, Sue Summer reported m Williamson's Sapsucker.

KIOWA COUNTY:

---On October 16 at Upper Queen/Neeskah Reservoir, Kara Carragher reported 6 Cattle Egret and 9 Chestnut-collared Longspurs.

LARIMER COUNTY:

---On October 16 at Boyd Lake, Nick Komar reported juv Pacific Loon at south end of lake and Sabine's Gull.  On October 18, Joe Mammoser reported Pacific Loon at south end of Boyd Lake.

---On October 14 at Horseshoe Reservoir, Nick Komar reported Mexican Mallard and Mew Gull.

---On October 10, Nick Komar reported a juv Sabine's Gull at Timnath Reservoir.

LOGAN COUNTY:

---On October 16 at Tamarack Ranch SWA, 385 Road, Austin Hess reported Red-bellied Woodpecker.

---On October 7 at North Sterling Reservoir and State Park, Steve Mlodinow reported Sabine's Gull, flyover LITTLE GULL, and  Chestnut-collared Longspur.  On October 15 at North Sterling Reservoir and State Park, David Dowell reported juv Red-throated Loon, 3 Sabine's Gulls and LITTLE GULL.

---On October 7 at Jumbo Reservoir, Steve Mlodinow reported Sabine's Gull and Laughing Gull.

MESA COUNTY:

---On October 12, Mike Henwood reported a Black Phoebe at Grand Valley Audubon Nature Center.

---On October 8, Mike Henwood reported a White-winged Dove on O1/2 Road.

---On October 5 on old Hwy  6 in De Beque Canyon, JoAnn Riggle reported a Trumpeter Swan.  On October 9, Mike Henwood reported ad Trumpeter Swan at the DeBeque Canyon Tunnel Pullout Area.  The swan was in the river close to where you re-enter  I-70. On October 12, Mike Henwood reported Trumpeter Swan and 3 Bewick's Wrens at DeBeque Canyon Tunnel Pullout Area.  On October 13, Phil Lyon reported Trumpeter Swan at BeBeque canyon tunnel Pullout Area.  On October 21, JoAnn Riggle reported Trumpeter Swan at DeBeque Canyon Tunnel Pullout Area.

MONTROSE COUNTY:

---On October 9, Coen Dexter reported 4 Sagebrush Sparrows and a Bewick's Wren at the Nucla Airport.

MORGAN COUNTY:

---On October 21 at Jackson Lake SP, Glenn Walbek and Mark Peterson reported sabine's Gull, WESTERN GULL (probably same one that was at Prewitt), 1st-cyc Thayer's Gull, Lapland Longspur, 2 Chestnut-collared Longspurs, and McCown's Longspur.

---On October 18 at Jackson Reservoir, Steve Mlodinow reported ad Thayer's Gull.  On October 18 at Jackson Reservoir, Jesse Casias reported Lesser Black-backed Gull.

---On October 7 at Jackson Reservoir, Steve Mlodinow reported 7 Sabine's Gulls and Lesser Black-backed Gull.

---On October 7 in Willow Creek Subdivision in Lamar, Dave Leatherman reported 1 imm f EASTERN TOWHEE.

---On October 7 at Lamar Community College Woods, Dorothy Russell reported Blue-headed Vireo and Red-bellied Woodpecker.

---On October 15 at Pueblo Mountain Park, Jo Ann Andrews reported Acorn Woodpecker.

---On October 13 on I-25 Frontage road S of Hwy 119, Sue Riffe reported ad light morph Broad-winged Hawk.

YUMA COUNTY:

---On October 8 at Pipit Hill in Hale Area, Bill Kaempfer and his field trip reported Sprague's Pipits and Chestnut-collared Longspurs. On October 15 at Pipit Hill in Hale Area, a Sprague's Pipit was reported by Mark Chavez, Art Hudak, and Christine Alexander.  On October 18 at Pipit Hill in Hale Area, Adam Vesely reported Sprague's Pipit.

Denver Field Ornithologists Field Trips: 

The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, October 22 will be to Prospect Park (Wheat Ridge Greenbelt) led by Jackie King (jackie.king AT ccd.edu; 720-381-3314)  

     Directions:  From I-70 exit 267, take Kipling south about 3/4 mile and turn right (west) on 44th Ave.  Go one mile west.  Look for entrance to Prospect Park on your left (south).  Meet just inside the park in the lot right next to Prospect Lake.  

    This is a trip with easy walking and accessible for mobility impaired individuals.  Bring water and a snack;  lunch optional.  Good trip for novice birders and new members.  Register online or contact leader.
