Change from Arduino control - to - Another controller

So i have had my Shapeoko 2 in assembled and working order for almost a full week now and a question popped into my head when i was trying to do some adjustments to a file i had. How soon do people who get the full kits start asking hrm i wish i could just run this through something better than Easel or UGS. 

Am i alone in this feeling or has / does anyone else share the opinion that it feels limiting in the way its setup.

We use gecko controllers on our joes cnc builds. I use vcarve and aspire software and mach as a post.
