I was able to set up direct login for Gmail, but it doesn't work, if I
do the same for the personalized Homepage or the Google Accounts page
(example below). All that happens, when I click the direct login link
is a blank tab opens.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Could you please tell from exactly which URL are you getting the above
bookmarklet text?
To double check that the Clipperz bookmarklet properly supports Google
accounts, I just run the bookmarklet from:
- the main Google Account page, https://www.google.com/accounts/ManageAccount
- the personalized Google Search Page,
https://www.google.com/accounts/Login?continue=http://www.google.com/webhp&hl=en
- the Gmail page,
https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false&continue=http%3A%2F%2Fmail.google.com%2Fmail%2F%3Fui%3Dhtml%26zy%3Dl<mpl=ca_tlsosm_video<mplcache=2
I then used the text from the above pages to configure three different
direct logins and they are all working like a breeze.
Are you using Firefox? Which version?
Regards,
Marco
I have been able to find the same login form you have used, and I can
confirm that the Direct Login is not working.
I will try to understand why it is not working and let you know.
In the meanwhile, you can use the bookmarklet on the login form that
you can see going to the GMail base url: http://www.gmail.com.
As Marco has already told you, we have being using direct login to
basically all the different Google services with no issues until now
(Marco had the idea to let the user have more than one direct login
associated to a single card exactly to let her access all the
different Google/Yahoo services directly with a single click on a
direct login item).
I will keep you informed on the outcome of my investigation.
Thanks very much for the detailed note.
Best regards,
Giulio Cesare
I have just found a very odd behaviour that I really need to
investigate further.
If you use the configuration to add a direct login to a card,
something goes wrong handling the configuration (I have noticed it
immediately, as the direct login configuration form does not have the
checkbox defined into the configuration you have copied from the
bookmarklet).
If you use the same configuration to create a brand new card,
everything works as expected, and you end up with a card with the
direct login fully setup.
Both procedure should share the same code-base, but I have obviously
done something wrong as I was expecting the behaviour to be
consistent. :-(
I will keep you informed.
Giulio Cesare
I have found the problem.
It is a stupid regression error I have introduced in the last version
when I have added the check to ensure that the bookmarket version used
to get the configuration was up to date. :-(
I have just uploaded a new version (497-551) that fixes this error.
Thanks again for reporting the issue.
Giulio Cesare
Confirmed, it's working now as the second direct login added to a
card :)
Thanks for the quick fix!
Marco
