Conversion from Kg CO2 to tCO2

Hi!

I have a question regarding the conversion of kg CO2 to tCO2e.

How can we convert Kg CO2 to tCO2e?

Hi Devesh,

 

In terms of converting from kg to t: 1 kg = 0.001 metric ton, in other words, 1t = 1000 kg.

 

We don’t convert CO2 to CO2e. CO2e refers to carbon dioxide equivalent, and is used to describe greenhouse gases (GHG) in a common unit. Besides CO2 (Carbon Dioxide), other types of GHGs can be converted into CO2e using their corresponding global warming potential (GWP) values. The GWP of CO2 is 1.
