Hello,

With the new Mountain Lion, Apple says that "you can now type English words in a Pinyin sentence without switching keyboards." I couldn't find any help in doing so. Any idea?

Thank you!

You just type the word, and if it is in the dictionary it will appear as one of the choices. For instance type "car" and you will see "car" there among the character choices. Emoji work the same way - except you have to type the appropriate Chinese word for the emoji.

Are you referring to the Caps Lock feature? Turn on Caps Lock and you can type english without pinyin getting in the way. Turn Caps Lock off and you can type pinyin normally.
