IntelliJ Plugin Development - Reading and displaying checkstyle results

Hi everybody,

I'm developing an Intellij plugin in which I read and display checkstyle results. 
Does anyone know how I can best implement the line marking / result displaying that checkstyle does?

We are not experienced in Intelij Idea, you can take a look at https://github.com/jshiell/checkstyle-idea project.

Or any other Intelij Idea plugins sources, how they do this.
