Hi all,

For a record, I decided to write up a summary from last night's `Project Night` session.

Cabinet

Thanks to Eliot we now have a lockable cabinet on a long term loan. Eliot had only one key for the cabinet. I will get few more keys cut by the next session. We moved most (all?) of our boxes & "stuff" that we cleaned up last week into the cabinet.

Hot end on `DMvII #71` 3D printer

The hot end that came with the #71 clogged up once again. While I was trying to drill out the stuck PLA out of it, Winston suggested to simply throw it to rubbish and replace with one of his j-head hot ends. After rescueing stuck drill bit from the old hot end we installed the one one and re-leveled the base for the new hot end. We hit the wall one more time when a test print didn't print. Temperature was going up and down and didn't want to stabilise. Neil suggested to look at PID tuning to solve this one. With that we concluded the session and shall leave PID tuning for the next session.

Misc

We had a couple of gold coin ($2) donations (Neil, myself, ...?) for the session. Andrew continued work on his analogue computer project and helped us out to solder wires of the new hot end. Nate tested a bracket that I printed for him for his 3D printer and found out the print is too small. Neil have been busy printing on his brief case printer.

It was very productive session. The new hot end with 0.3mm nozzle seems like a great replacement and a great step towards reliability of prints.
