Road Map for API Features/Can I Get Petitions by Category?

I'm looking at the API docs on GitHub for v1.  If these are the current docs, am I correct in surmising that if I wanted to make an API call to pull petitions within a category (example "Animals") there doesn't appear to be a way to do that in the API?  It appears that if we need information on petitions, we have to first start with a petition_id, which we wouldn't necessarily know if we were trying to find the latest petitions by a category.

Seems to be the same thing for organizations.  It appears we can get info about an organization, provided we know about it already, but there's no way to query for organizations based on category or location or any other criteria.  Is that right?

I'm wondering if my assumptions above are correct and if so, if there is a road map for new features/functionality for the Change.org API or perhaps a place to vote on or request features?

Hi Michael!

Your assumptions are correct. Currently the API doesn't support accessing petitions by category or by tag. You can try scraping our website for that information. For example: http://www.change.org/tags/animals-13 will show a list of petitions tagged with animals in the en-US locale. Currently, we don't have a petitions index or organizations API endpoints on our roadmap but we will let you do when we do.

Do you know if search petitions by location will be enabled at any point in the future?

Looking at the earlier posts it seems it was mentioned as a possible feature a while back.
