Next Release or Pull master?

We are using Casper currently and think it's great. However, the last official release is quite old now, and yet I see that the project is very active. Does anyone know how far off the next release is? ...or is the latest code in GitHub stable enough we can just pull that or would everyone recommend we stick with the official releases?
