Michael Alan Weiner (real name) is banned in most civilized Nations like the
U.K.

Criticism of Republican Nominees

John McCain - "McCain . . . what does McCain stand for? He ran in the mantle
of Barry Goldwater and then he completely humiliated that legacy by being a
senator in the mold of a Rockefeller Republican rather than showing any
tinges of Goldwater conservatism."

Rudy Giuliani - "He has not got a ghost of a chance to be president. He's
for Giuliani and no one else. He's too liberal; favoring gay marriage, for
example, and he made New York City an asylum city for illegal aliens. He has
no conservative credentials."

Mitt Romney - "I don't know the man but his policies seem to be all over the
map."

Newt Gingrich - "He is intellectually brilliant, but I think . . . he's
unelectable because he has too much history."

Ohhh-kay. McCain's a "Rockefeller Republican", and Newt's "intellectually
brilliant". Hmmm.. Weiner did use to hang around with Allen Ginsberg and
Lawrence Ferlinghetti (gay intellinsia)... maybe he still knows where to
score the really good stuff?

The complaints about Obama and his vacations are more of the same
baloney that has been posted here time and again. Don't lecture about
the expense of the trip that Obama makes when there was complete
silence from the Right when Bush vacationed. The most extreme example
of this lack of criticism was Bush's jaunt to Beijing to watch the
Olympics as a "sports fan". Not one peep from the Right about this
one.

Did all these expenses just magically appear when Obama was sworn in,
or have they been there for decades, like the deficit? Is this yet
another one of those things Republicans didn't give a rat's ass about
until *very* recently? I'm guessing yes, it is.

Bush's vacations were cheaper because he owned the ranch in Crawford, and
because they didn't need all that expensive communications infrastructure to
be set up because Rove and Cheney were the real power anyway ... Bush
couldn't say "boo" without Rove's hand up his backside ... review Bush's
inability to abandon the narrative of "The Pet Goat" on 9/11 for proof.

When Bush vacationed, it was in his own Texas ranch , not in $ 7500.00 a

But plenty of protest from the left. I distinctly remember lefties
complaining about Bush's frequent trips to Crawford, even though Texas
is much closer to D.C. than Hawaii.

Bush also has a residence in Texas, while Obama has no particular
connection to Hawaii other than having been born there. He is not in
Hawaii to visit family or friends, he is there because it is a
pleasant place to vacation. Of course, he shouldn't need to justify
where he vacations, except we are paying for it.

Federal law sets the presidential salary at $400k per year, and as far
as I know, this compensation includes unlimited vacation time (there
is no constitutional requirement for minimum number of days spent in
Washington), but does not include expenses. The President is given a
free place to stay in D.C., the White House, but he must pay for his
lodging when he travels.

Even giving him free transportation on Air Force One is questionable,
since his constitutional duties do not require him to travel (signing
and vetoing legislation can be done in D.C.). As head of state,
however, he is sometimes required to meet with foreign leaders, in
which case the transportation should be provided free of charge. But
if he wants to fly to Hawaii for vacation, he should pay for his plane
ticket and hotel room just like everyone else.

racism is a fairly recent word invention that has little or no

bigotry on the other hand has legs.

as for your questions, i think it's worthwhile to go into this on a
