Hello

I´m using camtrapR softwer 2.0.3 and R 4.0.2. Before I used Digikam 6.4.0 in windows 10 (32win), I extracted all tags correctely, but Digikam had problems and I changed for new version Digikam 7.1.0 and right now, I can´t extract tags with camtrapR.

Has anyone else had this problem and knows how to fix it?
thank you very much for your help

Hi Mari,
I'm afraid I'll need some more details to help you:

- what problems did digiKam have before your update?
- are we talking about photos or videos?
- in the new version of digiKam, do the tags show up correctly with the images?
- what are the error messages you get, and with which function (please also provide the code of the function that failed)?
- can you extract image tags with exifTagNames(), and is the HierarchicalSubject tag present and correct in the output?

Thank you very much for the clarification.
Best,
Jürgen

Excuse me. I have already found the problem. In my case, Digikam was installed incorrectly, which is why it marked the labels but did not save them as metadata. CamtrapR does not present any errors. To solve it you have to go to Preferences, Configure Digikam, and in Metadata mark the first seven configurations and update the file modification date. In this way the metadata can be saved. For the photos that we had already tagged I have not found a solution together, I have saved one by one updating the tags. Hope I can help with the comment if someone else did this. And thank you very much for the help in the forum.

Greetings

Correction. You can select all the photos within Digikam and Apply, so the tags of all the photos will be saved and it is not necessary to save one by one. I hope it will be of interest to those who use Digikam as a label manager in their work with CamtrapR.

Hi Mari,
thank you for the solution, and good to hear you fixed it. Just for clarification, you mean the Apply button in the bottom right of the digiKam window?

Not More > Write Metadata to each file?

Best regards,
Jürgen
