Dear All,

Sad to say that family health issues mean that our much-loved NE400 is about to be advertised for sale.  We've enjoyed owning 'Briez' and she has looked after us well.

She is a 1998 model - although not fully commissioned until 2000 when we bought her - and is one of the very few on this side of the Atlantic (Guernsey,  Channel Islands).  She's very well  equipped and is in good condition.  If anyone is interested,  please PM me and I will send you full details.  She will be listed publicly at GBP 150k,  although for a private sale we'd discount that significantly.

Perhaps it's an opportune moment to say that although I have not been a frequent contributor to this group (and the SailNet precursor),  I have enjoyed the comments, insights and general camaraderie that this group engenders.  Thank you all for letting me be part of that over the last decade or so.  Keep up the good work!

Finally - I'll see if I can successfully attach a picture of Briez.  Here goes...

Thank you all and happy sailing.

I'm sorry to hear that, Keith. Briez is a very attractive boat, especially for the climate in northern Europe. I wish you well. Please stay a member of the group. I'm sure at some point we will get questions again on the pros and cons of Autoprops, and you are the resident expert in that area!

I also have a CR Northeast 400 1998, I know how hard it is to have to let her go. I am in Friday Harbor WA.

Speaking of props..I have a 4 blade max prop and think I need to gear it up (smaller bite in the water).

Do you have any rpm vs over the water speed recommendations for a yanmar 100 hp?

Dear Norris,

See the excel spreadsheets uploaded with my post of 7/28/13 entitled "Northeast 400 cruising speeds under power". That's a reasonably detailed set of data for comparing speed v rpm for fixed prop, Autoprop and 4-blade Variprop for a NE400.

Best wishes,

Keith

Hi guys,

By way of an update,  I just had someone back out of a sale at £120,000 (that's about $177,000 right now).  It's a little less than I would have liked,  but if anyone else wants to make me a similar offer,  we're in the mood to sell.

Best,

Keith

Hi Keith is Briez still available?

Hi Matt,

Yes - absolutely.  She's currently listed at GBP 99,950 which with the recent fall in the pounds puts her at about USD $131,000.  You can see details here: http://www.lovellyachts.com/used-boats/boat-details.php?BoatID=4908425&currency=GBP   All the photos were taken in winter and look a little dull!.

Family circumstances mean we have to sell her - so - there is a deal to be struck for someone!

Thank you Keith.  Perhaps if you could contact me at smartm...@mac.com to discuss coming over to have a look and discuss some details.

Regards.
Matt
