Has anyone removed the mast step on their 38?
I can’t get the screws to turn.
Are there backing plates and nuts under the sub floor?

They’re just really long lags. I pulled mine last year and had the same concern, initially.

I have #19. The screws just keep the mast plate from moving horizontal. No different than having a pin in the step.

Good Morning.
Our original step was deteriorated.
I replaced the original step with a thick aluminum plate. We glassed over the original holes which thread into the top of the black water holding tank. The entire area was in poor condition what with teal sole screwed through it also.

Use good adhesive sealant when fastening it to the bridge (tank) structure.

Best.
