So I bought one of the Dillon 650 primer chute devices for my 650’s.  I am blessed enough to have two of these presses.  One on the right side of my bench for Large Primer and another on the left end for Small primer.
The spent primer chute replaces the Dillon bracket and catch cup.  Works wonderfully, however,
The press on the right side of bench drops primers into the hose then a piece of PVC pipe, into an old coffee can to the right of the bench.
The press on the left side of the bench can’t discharge to the right.
My bench is made from kitchen cabinets so there is a drawer and cabinet under the press.  If I discharge in the front it works but then I have to move stuff to get into that drawer.

Here is my thought, Make a piece of “L” PVC pipe, the vertical 1” piece must be long enough for the tubing to go up and down with the press ram, without pulling free of the pipe.  A 90º elbow at the bottom that changes from 1” to 2” (or larger) The horizontal piece would be a trap to catch the spent primers.  3 or 4” long with a removable cap. The whole “L” would need some kind of bracket that held it to the right leg of the strong mount base.  When full you could remove hold down bracket then empty and re-attach.

If it was just a loading bench, I would drill a hole and run the tube to a catch bottle under the bench.  Since mine is built from kitchen cabinets, The drawer prevents that option (or would disable using/moving the drawer)

Reloaders are generally an ingenious bunch.  Who has already solved this and wha’d you do?

I thought about a cup in the drawer but I’m cheap as well, the cabinets I bought were the cheapest way to configure an 8’ countertop.  Two 30” and one 36” cabinet. So the drawers are wide, shallow and CHEAP.  They wouldn’t last long in a real kitchen. Top to bottom they are only about 3” deep.  I’m afraid the travel of the ram would pull the hose out of the catch can which couldn’t be much taller than a coffee cup.

Thinking about it now, rather than an “L” piece that the tube slides up and down, just a catch piece of 2” with a cap on the end and a ½ barbed nipple on the other end.  Slide the hose over barb , make the hose just long enough so that on the full upstroke of the press (handle down) it would lift up the piece of L-tubing.  Letting gravity roll spent primers to the end of catch pipe.  I’m liking this idea.  Will let all know how it works out.

How about a cup in the drawer
