API similarity

I love the fact that the JSON module implements the same API as the Ruby stdlib. I think this should be a project goal where possible (or possibly mimic the EM API for async operations). Thoughts?

That's what I aimed for but we still need to be careful not to have similar APIs but different behaviors.
