I am getting familiar with your source code, 2.0 version. I see that there are problems with realtime communication that is of course obvious.

Do you have any plans with Sputnik in future?

I think you should try this: https://github.com/jrief/django-websocket-redis

I have done some research around web, and this looks the most viable option currently.
