This is one of the ten auspecious herbs that constitute the group
Dasapushpa (10 flowers)
The whole plant is reported as cooling, bitter, astringent,
antipyretic, antiseptic and decreases Pitha and Kapha. It is useful in
fever, burning sensations, hemorrhages,chronic cough, dysentery,
urinary calculi etc. Even it cures piles. The leaves are antiseptic
and styptic hence it is used in wounds and ulcers. The leaves acts as
diuretic when given internally.
Important formulation:- Chemparutyadi tailam.
