I’m using the latest 3.0 Bndtools and the builder can take a couple of minutes to build two bundles. Should I open an issue, or is the new builder still in flux?

Please do raise a bug. Since the whole point of the new builder is to improve performance, we really want to hear about any problems like this.

In the short time I've used the new builder I've seen no difference in performance.
True, it only does a single build run, as opposed to multiple builds for the original builder, but that didn't result in a measurable  difference in build time for my project of about 40 bundles.

Please file a bug, would be nice if you can share a workspace. If you cannot share a workspace, then maybe you can turn on full logging for the build (Preferences/bndtools/build/FULL). This will log in the error view. If you could send the error log this would be really helpful to see what is going on.

These times, however, sound like downloading files?

The new build is a bit faster for a full build (dramatically when you had cross dependencies) but the biggest gain is in the incremental builds. These gains are not so large but do make bndtools feel more crisper. And there is a big improvement in the class path handling that makes the build more robust.

Kind regards,

Peter Kriens

I can make my workspace available, just let me know the best way to get it to you (I’m not putting the source on GitHub).

You could create a private git repo on bitbucket.org (for free) and grant me and/or Peter access to the repo. Or you zip and put on dropbox(or equivalent) and send a private email with the download link.
