To buy your sweetie something for Valentine's Day!

Oh, and of course - The Blue Ox Brewers Society meeting this Thursday!
My garage,
7:00pm,
Bring a six pack for the BOBS SIX PACK SWAP(tm).  Can I trademark that???

And bring ideas for the next big brew day.  We're not leaving until we figure out what we're brewing!  (or I get to randomly pick a recipie)  Chocolate Tomato Wheat, here we come!!!

Since Jesse G mentioned it, I thought of a Fat Tire Clone...
The basis for the big brew will be to bring your own equip.  We'll bulk purchase the ingredients for the base beer and have them ready to go at the brew day.  Bring your gear and BREW ON!

See you at the meeting!
Bring a friend!

Oh, and a little bit of bragging here at the end...  There will be an award winning* Blonde Ale on tap at the meeting.

*3rd place, 2008 Great Northern Brew Ha-Ha, Belgian Strong Category.

Choc tomato wheat sounds like something an expectant mom wants you to run out for at 3 AM.

AAAHHH!!!
Yes!  Wednesday!  Sorry!  We normally meet on Thursday, but I think Valentines Day (if you choose to celebrate it) would take precidence over brewclub meeting.

No wonder noone shows up for the meetings...  someone ought to fire the so-called leader of this group...

The only down side of a fat tire clone is that the one I find on NB's website has 5 lbs of a base malt.  That means we'd need to brew about 50 gallons on the day to use up a full sack of that malt.  Are we up to the challenge???

The good thing about doing a fat tire clone is that Wyeast has the fat tire strain available for a limited time...

I will be in the cities Friday and Saturday.  Could stop by Midwest if anybody wants anything.  I have to meet my wife later on Saturday.  She told me to hang out at the brew store and wait for her, so I can only be a good husband and honor her wishes!

Pat,  I would like to brew sometime that beer we sampled at Matty’s.  I forget what it is now, but is was tasty.  I think for the time bing until I get my basement project under control and the weather breaks I will not be brewing much.  What date again for the big brew day?

I did have my hopes up for a Pale.  Could care less whether or not this is part of a hopping experiment.  With regard to the BVIP, I finished my 2 gals this weekend.  Tail end was a little cidery.  Did anyone else notice, possible it was just mine?  I can only store it as cold as 55 deg F over winter as the garage ref is out of commission.  Hope to see you all Wednesday.

It was the aforementioned Ufda! Blonde.  You might have to remind me, but I'll post the recipie.  I think that might have to be one of my "house" brews.  And being so drinkable at 7.5%...   It's definitely an Ufda! experience!

BYO had a fat tire clone in one of their issues in the last two years, if I had time I would look but rushed this AM.

Maybe pull their index on line and find it, I have the past issue in THE PILE.  My wife uses that term for the brew mags and muzzle loading mags.  I tell her it could be Playboy instead..

Jesse,

So where are you going, northern or Midwest? I could do a Sun AM pick up.

When is a good time, would prefer early.

Could buy you breakfast if you wish but church could be in the way for you.

Our house we read the paper early and brew beer.

Are there any groomed ski trails at Small Falls, could do Crow Wing and
support the state budget.

will do. will just be equipt for future use if I find something. marc

will be in st. paul in early april, trying to decide if I want to start
buying the 50 lb bags but not sure I will keep the inventory turning. I
like the idea of not having to ship each time and not bothering other
members.
