The "underline" option in the BlueGriffon toolbar adds:

But we should strive for semantic HTML. HTML5 has brought back with the semantics of "unarticulated", and most browser will show this as underline. BlueGriffon should use and not some span with CSS styling.

You might say "but the button says 'Underline' and not 'Unarticularted'". Well, your button for "Bold" doesn't say "Strong", but still it (correctly!) uses the tag.

So please change the underline toolbar button to use the appropriate tag. Thanks.

Yes, I am considering an option changing the behaviour of the three
basic styling buttons. Either

i, b and u

or

em, strong and a span with underline style

I misspoke here---your "Bold" button actually does use a <span...> But you got my point---we need a button for , whatever the case. (Actually it would be nice to be able to define our own toolbar, but there are a lot of bugs that have much, much, much higher priority.)
