Any talk about races for 2013

Hello all,

Does anyone know of any road races that will be happening in the Black Hills region this year?  If there are race please post the dates and places as soon as possible.

Here is a Tentative early race season schedule:

April 13th  Redwater Roubaix – Bets Cordes

May 11th Bearlodge RR- Bets Cordes/Team Tumbleweeds

May 22nd Pigtails GP – Bill Colson

June 8th or 15th Elkhorn Ridge RR- Bets Cordes/Elkhorn Ridge Resort

After that not sure!

Wellmark Tour de Oahe is June 21-22. Friday night: Prologue Time Trial up the new concrete bike trail. Saturday: Long ride across dam through Pierre, new bike trail, Ft. Pierre south to 1806 (lane demarkation via orange cones) to Lower Brule Reservation boundary

Is there a reason that all of our races fall so early in the season.  Why can't we have races in July and August?  4 weeks in a row of racing is great, but we need spread out the races so that those of us that have other obligations can have a chance to race later in the year.  I think that we would have better turn outs!

Yes I checked May 11th is the NHTC Duathlon, also the DC Booth run. Bearlodge RR will be moved to Mat 18th. Also Redwater Roubaix will be April 20 to interfere with Twin Bing on the 14th

I have attached a file that I have composed of current races in the area as well as tentative races.  I have guess the tentative dates based on when the race was in 2012.  Some people just wait until the last minute I guess.  Let me know if there is anything else anyone wants added or if anyone has an idea of where I should post this so more people can learn about the races.  Also let me know if something doesn't work in the file, I use open office and sometimes it doesn't like to save in .xls.

BTW: 3rd Annual Wellmark Tour de Oahe is June 21-22 in Pierre. Prologue Time Trial up new concrete bike trail Friday night. Ride Sat 25, 40 and 62miles, scenic, decent shoulders, lots of hills. 175 rider limit. Really hope some of you can make it.

Could you pls make the following changes to the calendar: Flyover #1 Iowa City,IA  Crits April 27,28.    Northern Hills Training Center Duathlon Sat May 11th.    MN Memorial Stage Race, flyover #2 My 25-27.    there is NO Tour de Bozeman this year, It is CANCELLED.     Mt Evans Hill Climb, July 20th.    Custer will be Sept. 14th not Sept 6th

Here is a revised schedule.  I have a feeling some people might be doing a couple of the flyover events, so I included when they are.  Once again if anything ever comes up or changes are made let me know so I can change it.  Also where did you hear Tour de Bozeman is cancelled and do you know why.

Yes I talked to the race director last month. I was skiing with her. They did not find enough people to help with the race and lost some sponsorship. Sound familier???

In case anyone is interested in travelling as far as Sheridan we've got a race coming up May 4. 27 miles--mostly dirt/gravel in the foothills of the Bighorns. Was out on the course yesterday, should be a good one! Registration/info attached. This benefits the WY/MT Volunteers of America and is held in cooperation with a 3.5mi walk/run and half marathon.
