Hi all. I just downloaded the new version of BitCurator, but VirtualBox would not allow the .vbox file to be added.
I am enclosing a screencap of the error.
Thanks, Ariel Segal

Ariel,

It looks like you may be using an outdated version of VirtualBox (based on the "4.3-mac-rel" in the path. VirtualBox is now at 5.0. xHCI indicates USB 3.x compatibility, which VirtualBox 5.0 now offers.

Please upgrade your VirtualBox install, and try again.

Thanks Kam! Unfortunately I am using OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard, and Virtualbox dropped support for Snow Leopard with the 5.0 release :( Is there any way to continue using BC with VirtualBox

4.3.30? Should I download BC 1.4.1?

I may have to upgrade eventually.

Best Ariel

Ariel,

The simplest way to work with earlier versions of VirtualBox is simply to create your own VM using the BitCurator 1.5.1 ISO, and replace the VirtualBox 5.0 guest additions with a different version (by installing using the standard method).

The VM distributed on the BitCurator site is created directly from the ISO, so you will end up with an identical environment for all intents and purposes, with only the guest additions being different.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Kam
