Hi everyone,
A new production release (1.7.26) of BitCurator is available. Built using the recent point release of Ubuntu Xenial (16.04.1), it also includes the following software updates:
- TSK updated to 4.3.0
- Clonezilla now available in the "Imaging Tools" folder
- Hex editor with additional advanced features (Bless) included in "Additional Tools". GHex remains available, as well.
A note on compatibility:
BitCurator has kept the minimum requirements for the VirtualBox virtual machine (1.5GB RAM, 1 processor) stable for nearly five years, allowing the VM to run using VirtualBox on machines with as little as 4GB RAM and dual-core non-hyperthreaded processors.
Canonical now recommends a minimum of 2GB RAM and a dual-core machine in order to run Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS. As of BitCurator 1.7.26, we will be distributing the VM with defaults of 2048MB RAM and 2 processors assigned to the guest.
Regards,
Kam
