Hi all,

Apologies if this has already been asked, but is there a way to save disk images directly to a mapped network drive through the Guymager gui? I am connected to an smb share drive and can access it through Nautilus (and I think through the terminal--it looks like the mount location is  in /run/user/[user id]/gvfs), but it doesn't show up when I'm in Guymager and navigating to the directory in which to save the image. I can copy the image to the share drive after it's done, but I was wondering if there was a way to have Guymager write the image directly to the share drive.

Thanks!
Martha

Hi Martha,
I tried this about a year ago and wasn't able to get it working. My thought at the time was that it had to do with permissions. Specifically, because Guymager runs as root and not the "bcadmin" user, Guymager may not be able to write to the network share. But, like I said, it's been a while since I looked into it. Anyone else have more recent experience doing this?

Oh right, that makes sense. It's no big deal to add an extra step to our workflow. Thanks in any case, Porter!
