I need some help.

We are replacing the IBM TS7740 VTS/ATL with the Luminex hardware.  The hardware is installed and I can use TAPELOAD and TMOUNT, Luminex utilities, to mount volumes on both zVSE and zVM.  I have started to setup EPIC but the zVSE guest just will not contact the Luminex hardware.

I think the issues lays with the fact we have 7 zVSE guests machines and the Luminex system group have never encountered a like ours.

I have a separate tape pool for each guest.

Is anyone running anything similar that they would share?

Thanks, Andy for getting back.  Shortly after sending the question I found my issue and I now have it working.
Isn't that the way it always happens?

Thanks again,

John

Check list

1 – IOCP has Luminex CUU address defined.

2 – I guess due new versions of zVSE isn´t necessary to define them in ADD asyproc statemets.

3 – If you runs under zVM make sure CUU´s are attached to zVSE system

4 – Use AR Command VOLUME to check if they are available to zVSE and DVCDN/DVCUP commands.

5 – If all above is ok, well problem could be really with Epic definitions.

6 – Keep in mind that Luminex virtual drives are defined as 3490/3490E or 3590 for Operating Systems, so do all you need to do if you install a real 3490 or 3590
