Hello,

Does ICCF have any transactions to transfer using the IWS Client?

Best regards,

Toyokazu.

IWS-Client does not mean anything to me.

So the question: are you expecting functionality like other workstation
clients have to communicate (up and download files to be
edited)?

Something you can explore when having ISPF or BIM-Edit (or
whatever) as editor on the mainframe.

After signing on  to ICCF (admin) the path to them would be:

3  Operations

8  Personal Computer Move Utilities

1  List and Process User Files in Host Transfer File

2  Move VSAM Files to Host Transfer File

3  Move Files from Host Transfer File to VSAM

4  Move ICCF Members to Host Transfer File

5  Move Files from Host Transfer File to ICCF

  6  PC File Transfer

It is covered in this manual:

Programming and Workstation Guide

Version2Release7

SC33-6709-01

Hello Martin,

Thank you for your reply. We have customer using IWS Client by VM (EXEC) and
VSE (CICS online application). There is problem with file transfer
communication using the IWS Client.

I know that the IWS Client can be run from the host program. (It does not
require operation of 3270 emulator.)

TSO(z/OS) and CMS(z/VM) have the following sample programs:
**********************************************************************
* THIS IS A SAMPLE PROGRAM FOR TSO/CMS/CMSXA *
* DATA EXCHANGE TO/FROM IWS TOOLKIT II OR IBM ACS/2 *
* IWS TOOLKIT II VERSION 2.00(BDXHOSTX.ASM) *
* 5605-7F9 (C) COPYRIGHT IBM CORP. 1984, 1993 *
* LICENSED MATERIAL - PROGRAM PROPERTY OF IBM *
**********************************************************************

However, VSE could not find the same. So, in order to investigate the
problem I was investigating how easy it is to create an environment with
ICCF (any transaction or any program...).

Toyokazu Kobayashi

Hello Paul,

Thank you for your reply. I know this function.
What I am investigating is different from this one.

Best regards,
Toyokazu Kobayashi

Toyokazu,

the problem is that ICCF does not allow creation/update of a member
from anywhere but from an edit-session. So there is no way to implement
that functionality.

I have no idea what you are attempting- but there might be other ways
to circumvent the problem at hand.

Tell us more about it.

Hello Martin,

I do not have to upload/download files to ICCF library. ICCF is also CICS.
If I can upload/download to file defined in this CICS, it's OK.

For example, I want to know the any transaction that calls the IWS client
and automatically transfers files. Execute the transaction by giving input
file name and output file name.

Best regards,
Toyokazu Kobayashi
