Hi August,

Depending upon what caused the 4083 to occur, you may have gotten a 4083 traceback report listing in the
program output. This will show you what modules were involved in the lead up to the failure and any available
program interrupt information.

I noticed a reference to SORT so have any sort-options been changed? Has the partition allocation where the application
is being executed changed or is it being run in a different partition? Is the program using the "SORT-RETURN" special
register to check if the sort completed ok?

If you are comfortable reading a system dump then you can try TRAP(ON,MIN). This will produce a dump for the original
program interrupt that caused LE to try and report on the failure which couldn't be completed so a 4083/03 abend was
issued.
Eg // EXEC LETGEN30,SIZE=(LETGEN30,128K),PARM='/TRAP(ON,MIN)'

Garry Hasler

Just got better

He claims the so-called daily job that uses the same phase works after the restore, but his weekly job with same phase does not

I am not on site and of course no remote access

Did someone link another program with a similar name where the first 4 bytes of program name are identical?   (LETG)

Change auto to the program name and see if it’s better.    I’ve grown to hate AUTO…
