I have the following datasets that I can't delete:

TM#T.C.PBDTC.DOE.TCHR.CRSE.MAST MIGRAT2
TM#T.C.PBDTC.DOE.TCHR.CRSE.MAST.DATA MIGRAT2
TM#T.C.PBDTC.DOE.TCHR.CRSE.MAST.INDEX MIGRAT2
TM#T.C.PBDTCX.DOE.TCHR.CRSE.AIX MIGRAT2
TM#T.C.PBDTCX.DOE.TCHR.CRSE.AIX.DATA MIGRAT2
TM#T.C.PBDTCX.DOE.TCHR.CRSE.AIX.INDEX MIGRAT2
TM#T.C.PBDTCX.DOE.TCHR.CRSE.AIX.PATH MIGRAT2

These are the error messages for the first file:

ARC1010I USER REQUEST FOR A MIGRATED DATA SET FAILED.
ARC1001I TM#T.C.PBDTC.DOE.TCHR.CRSE.MAST DELETE FAILED, RC=0010, REAS=0000

IDC0014I LASTCC=8
IDC3007I ** VSAM CATALOG RETURN CODE IS 38
***

I have tried everything I know including a DELETE with a NOSCRATCH option,
but it won't delete it.

These are the error messages for the AIX file:

Does anyone know what I can do to delete these datasets?

Thanks in advance...

Have you tried Hdelete?

Hdelete does not require a recall of the dataset.

George.
It appears you have a VSAM data set and associated Alternate Index with a coded expiration date that has not been reached. Recalling the base cluster should recall both the base and AIX component. Have you tried the HDELETE PURGE?

Mike,

I get an invalid keyword when I try HDELETE PURGE. The dataset is not
recallable. The tape was scratched.

IDC3007I - See explanation of RC in IDC3009I

IDC3009I RC=30

RETURN CODE 38

Explanation: The catalog installation exit module, replaced by an
installation-supplied module, encountered an error while processing an
SVC 26 request. If the module was supplied by the DFSMS hierarchical
storage manager (DFSMShsm), the message with this return code was
preceded by one or more DFSMShsm messages (ARCxxxI) that indicate the
processing error.

Most of the reason codes seem to indicate some sort of recall failure.

Try (in sequence),

HDELETE 'pathname' PURGE
HDELETE 'aixname' PURGE
HDELETE 'clustername' PURGE

If that does not work, post the IDC3009I RETCODE/REASCODE and/or the
other related messages,
