Algae Dome @ CHART Art fair 2017

Dear Network,

Algae projects have always been of deep interest to Biologigaragen.

This September, the Chart art fair will feature an algae dome (document attached) and for that I have been asked to help grow over 600Litres of Algae.
This is the biggest Algae project I've seen so far and it's quite ambitious.

I therefore reach out for any help/collaboration that is possible.

We need some starter culture to get going as well as any expertise on best media for growing.
Preferably strains that grow fast!

Anyone who can help, please get back to me!
All collaborators will be credited in the project and will be invited to the chart art fair as part of the pavilion.

The display is on 1st September, so there are only 2 months to grow 600 Litres :D

Sweet project. I would like to help. At least with a few initial reflections. 

There are quite a few things to consider when growing that scale.

Is the design locked ? 

When and where to meet? 

And is there a budget?

Good to hear. 

And to answer your questions, 

The design is being handled by the architects and thats a separate team. 

The task at hand is to grow the algae in separate smaller tanks (Aquariums) and then fill it into the tubes before the exhibition.

We can schedule a meeting but the algae are of utmost important to get things rolling. 
Is it possible to ask our friends at KU for a starter culture? My friend has recently left KU so I dont know anyone in the Algae labs at the moment. Any leads for this Malthe? Maybe someone who is running the Algaebar right now?

There is a budget but it is to purchase material requirements, but the architects are handling the budget.

Hi, your project is very interesting. You can consider euglena gracilis. I grow 30 liters easily in my bathroom with a mix of 1cc rice powder + 1cc milk powder for 1 liter of water everything in 6 5-liter bottles with some light addittion, without bad smells at all. I guess with something bigger and cleaner you can reach the goal of  6OO liters.
