hi lina,

looking forward to meet you in helsinki!

personally i won't be able to join the meeting in vilnius 28. september... but....

we are organizing another biohack&art&environmnet "retreat" here in switzerland from 20-27. September, and maybe we can join forces, call it global "siNbiozė"!!
notes:

on very similar visions and context, we are aiming to bring together approx 20-30 people for a 1 week retreat to the swiss mountains, retreat as a quite but collabortive productive time together bridging disciplines and practices from hacking, DIYbio, food & fermenation, art and environment. it's part of the "Klöntal Triennale" and in collaboration with the global hackteria network has turned into something bigger, bringing practitioners from taiwan, indonesia, singapore and many swiss / europeans together.

maybe we can look into the option of sending 1 or 2 of our participants over to vilnius to present some of the stuff we have been working on?
also, we can maybe share some travel expenses from our budgets, to do so?

we are now starting a last minute crowd funding campaign, which uses a "double backing" mechanism for citizen science.
so everything we channel through there will give extra "free" money to do so.
partially we are already funded through other sources, biut still need more for the global aspect we are aiming for (cos i am really not into regional "nordic", "southern", "swiss", or whatever incest meetings).

we'll have time in helsinki to discuss details.

greetings,
marc

Greetings Lina, et al!

Thanks for the info about the next gathering in the network.

Sorry to say I wont be able to attend that one in September in Vilnius, nor the November gathering.. But I hope to join the February gathering in Stavanger.

Best wishes, and see a bunch of you soon in Helsinki!

andrew

Dear All,

hope you are all very well, excited about the Helsinki DIYbio copper-kimchi meeting coming very soon.

Looking forward, miga and I have drafted a program for the second network meeting in Vilnius, taking place at the end of September, and would like to invite everyone to let us know if you would like to come to Vilnius and take part. It is organised by Institutio Media in collaboration with Vilnius iGEM team and Technarium.

The programme is planned for 29–30 September with most convenient arrival/departure times 28 September - 1st October. But other dates also possible.

Please let us know by email as soon as you decide, latest by 31st August. Also, if you would like to be part of the panel in the discussion, please let us know.

The Vilnius meeting with a coded name "siNbiozė" is an attempt to realise the possibility of symbiosis of scientific and artistic practices, aimed at development and presentation of ideas, questioning the possibility to visualise essential life sciences related information and approach such areas as genetic engineering and life-programming.

Two public workshops and a panel with discussion will take place during this meeting, as well as an internal meeting. Also, a collaborative exhibition “Self-repair" will be on display during the event, with an opening on the evening of Saturday, September 30.

Please have a look at the website for full programme and more information

All the best and till soon,

Lina Rukeviciute
