Hi All,
What a summer and fall it has been with non stop classes and events! Thank you to everyone who has helped with those. As we roll into October we arent slowing down, in fact we are having a big lab clean out.
Why - We are cleaning it out to make more space for lab work with new lab benches, projects. and -80 Freezers!! This means more people will be able to use the lab at once, and we'll have more room for community projects. We are a volunteer organization so please come in to help us.
Members - The Laboratory will be closed from Oct 15 to Oct 21st. The classroom space will still be open the whole time, however materials will start to crowd into classroom, the lab will be closed. All your samples in the freezer/fridges will be unharmed. The lab may reopen early if cleanup activities are finished early (**HINT** If you all help we reopen the lab faster).
Volunteers: We need volunteers to help with cleaning on especially on Oct 15th to clear the cage. Shout out if you can help!
Oct 15th - Member potluck & Community meeting at 10am followed by the rest of the day of moving and cleaning. In other news I am very excited to share with you all that some of our BioCurious members have just launched a project today.
Vardhaan is the teen at BioCurious who taught our Teens Teaching Teens class this summer and has just launched a new project on Experiment.com. I love seeing what anyone can do in a BioHacking space. Johan and Vardhaan, along with the mentorship and help of Eric Espinosa are a fantastic example of that. It reminds me why I feel so passionatly about democratizing science and making it accessible to anyone who is curious.
Please think about backing it even with just $1, the more backers the higher it gets listed.

We will have many updates and even more news at the Community Meeting on Saturday so I hope folks can make it.
Take care,
